Accomplish Group Celebrates the Opening of Monterey View in Torbay

A CELEBRATORY ribbon-cutting ceremony has marked the opening of a brand new supported living service in Devon.

Guests gathered for the event, held to mark the official opening of Monterey View, a new service in Torbay which will support up to 11 people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.

VIP guest and Torbay Council Civic Mayor, Hannah Stevens, undertook the ribbon-cutting duties to declare the service, part of the Accomplish UK network of services, officially open.

She said: “It was a genuine honour to visit Monterey View in my capacity as Mayor. And as a parent to a child with autism, the experience resonated with me on a personal level.

“Witnessing the services provided and the passion from the dedicated team reassured me that high-quality, tailored support is available in Torbay. I truly believe this service is invaluable for people with autism, sensory developmental needs and learning difficulties to live predominantly independent and rewarding lives. I very much enjoyed the day and cannot thank the team enough for welcoming me.”

Anthony Lewis, Adults Residential - Divisional Managing Director at Accomplish, was also among the guests. He said: “We are delighted to be opening Monterey View and creating great new opportunities for people in the local community to receive exceptional support.

“We are looking forward to seeing the service thrive and become a fantastic asset to the local community. Thank you to Mayor Hannah Stevens for officially cutting the ribbon and joining us at our open day.

“The opening of Monterey View emphasises our ongoing commitment to expanding support across the South West, ensuring individuals receive the care they need to live fulfilling and independent lives.”

Other special guests for the opening event included people supported by Accomplish and their families, commissioners and social workers. During the day visitors had the chance to tour the service, meet the staff team and learn more about the specialist support on offer.
