Theatres and critical care showcase career opportunities
Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust is hosting an Open Day on Saturday 7th March, for experienced and newly qualified nurses and operating department practitioners that are looking at a career in theatres or Critical Care.
The day will include talks from speakers from all areas, introducing the day and the opportunities available. There will also be areas set up with information about the training available and a simulated Critical Care patient, with lots of equipment to look at and learn about.
Staff will be available to answer questions and there will be tours provided of the clinical areas. This will then be followed by interviews for anybody who has completed an application on the NHS Jobs website prior to the day.
Wendy Burt, Clinical Educator said: “Derriford Hospital is the South West Peninsula Major Trauma Centre and the tertiary referral centre for both Neuro Surgery and Cardiac surgery. All of our areas offer staff/students the chance to enhance their current knowledge and transferable skills, whilst developing advanced clinical skills in caring for a critically ill patient.
“We hope that this open day will provide people with the opportunity to explore a potential career in Critical Care and recognize the great opportunities we have to offer.”
The Open Day will be held on Fal Ward, Level 4 and is starting at 9.30am. It will be the perfect opportunity to learn more about the vacancies and opportunities available in theatres and critical care at Derriford Hospital.
