Theatre Royal Plymouth in search of young stars for this year’s panto
Theatre Royal Plymouth has begun the hunt to find the children’s ensemble for this year’s pantomime, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Auditions for the children’s ensemble will take place on Sunday 05 November, and are open to primary school children from year 3 to 6. Children should live within a 20-mile radius of TRP and not be taller than 4 feet 7 inches. All those trying out should be competent in modern dance and will be taught a routine as part of the audition. Two teams of eight children will be chosen to appear alternately in the pantomime which takes place from Friday 15 December to Saturday 13 January. The deadline for applications is Monday 23 October.
Auditions take place at TR2 Production & Learning Centre in Cattedown from 10am – 1pm on November 5. For more information, visit https://theatreroyal.com/childrenpantoauditions/
Starring in this year’s show are former Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole, double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes and Coronation Street’s Alexandra Mardell, alongside Britain's Got Talent finalist Steve Hewlett, TV comedian Adam C Booth and Plymouth’s homegrown star, Samuel Holmes.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a modern take on the children’s story produced by the world’s biggest pantomime producer, Crossroads Pantomimes. Audiences can expect the usual pantomime pandemonium as Goldilocks attempts to save her circus from an evil rival circus owner with the help of daddy bear, mummy bear, baby bear and her motley circus crew.
