Police appeal after Plymouth robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a street robbery left a grandmother and her grandson with minor injuries.

The incident took place at the junction of Skerries Road and Alderney Road, Southway, Plymouth, at around midday on Tuesday 23 February.

The victim, a 72-year-old woman, was pushing a pram which contained her one-year-old grandson when her handbag was pulled from her, causing her and the pram to fall to the floor. Both the victim and her grandson sustained minor injuries as a result.

The offender made off on foot with the handbag in Clittaford Road towards Dunnet Road, the bag was later discovered in Southway Lane. Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in this area at this time.

A 20-year old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on bail until the 16th of March, pending further enquiries.
