Plymouth Yacht Haven opens
Plymouth Yacht Haven held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Good Friday, 3rd April, in celebration of the completion of five months building work and a £400,000 investment in new facilities at this Five Gold Anchor marina.
Timed for the start of the new boating season, the marina has undergone a full refurbishment of its facilities with berth holders enjoying brand new luxury showers, spacious washrooms and modern laundry facilities on-site.
Commenting on the launch of the new facilities, Marina Manager Laura Whinney said “We are thrilled to be opening our beautiful new washrooms. This investment has transformed the berth holder facilities at this popular marina. As one of the south west’s Five Gold Anchor award-winning marinas, we are continually looking at ways to improve and update our marina, and also to ensure our customer service is of the very highest standard. We endeavour to ‘go the extra mile’ and this is why many of our customers have been with us for years. For us, the focus always remains on ensuring our berth holders and visitors continue to get the very best out of their boating and leisure time.”
Modelled on facilities at the Yacht Havens Group’s flagship site at Lymington, Plymouth's redevelopment includes hotel-quality luxuries including underfloor heating, large changing rooms, modern and eco-friendly features, plus a bath suite.
The honour of cutting the ribbon was given to long-standing berth holders of 25 years, Derek and Claire Williams. They said, “We’ve travelled extensively over the world over the last 25 years using lots of different marinas, and Plymouth Yacht Haven is the best – without question. The staff and the facilities are superb. The new more luxurious facilities will add a hotel feel and the bath suite is wonderful. This will improve our experience even more, something we never thought possible. We were delighted to be asked to cut the ribbon on these magnificent new washrooms and we look forward to testing them out!!”.
Now open, Marina Manager Laura Whinney believes the new facilities will be “the very best in the south west” and will even “rival the best in the UK”.
The marina offers 450 berths, all supplied with water, electricity and free WiFi. Berth holders and visitors are also treated to fabulous dining at the Bridge Bar and Restaurant, a well-stocked chandlery, 24 hour diesel, 24 hour manned security and free car parking. Plymouth Yacht Haven also offers lift-out services with the ability to hoist up to 75 tons.
The marina is open to customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. To book a berth and take advantage of these luxurious, modern new facilities contact the marina office; visit www.yachthavens.com to make an enquiry or call 01752 404231 for more information.
