Bayards Cove Inn has been awarded the prestigious title of Best Pub at the 2024 Food Drink Devon Awards, recognising its commitment to exceptional local cuisine and outstanding service.

The judges praised the historic pub, situated near Dartmouth’s cobbled quayside, for its welcoming atmosphere, cosy interiors, and rich maritime heritage that blend modern style with traditional charm. They highlighted the beautifully presented dishes, including perfectly cooked pork belly and confit duck, as well as crisp and succulent fishcakes. The judges declared it a “memorable dining experience that went beyond expectations” and commended the pub for championing local and seasonal ingredients at every level, with “impeccable” service to match.

Head chef Bogdan Nicoriciu, known as Danny, has been leading the culinary team at Bayards Cove Inn for eight years. With a focus on using the freshest ingredients sourced from local farms and the Devon coastline, Danny has crafted a menu that showcases the best of the region’s produce.
