Arlington Court welcomes autumn with community scarecrow trail and festivities
Arlington Court is celebrating autumn with its annual Community Scarecrow Trail, running from 5 October to 3 November.
This family-friendly event invites visitors to explore the grounds and discover scarecrows created by local schools, groups, and volunteers with this year’s theme being children’s book characters.
Ellie McCarthy, Programming & Partnerships Officer, said: ‘The scarecrow trail is always the highlight of autumn, its great fun getting the local community involved and seeing the creative ideas they come up with.’
The house and gardens will also be dressed for the season, featuring a harvest table and floral displays. On the lawn outside the house there will be welly wanging and visitors can stop by the garden to see the Atlantic Giant pumpkin growing.
For visitors interested in learning about the garden, the garden team will be hosting weekly garden talks every Wednesday throughout October. These sessions will highlight what’s looking good in the garden and share tips you can try at home.
For those who enjoy an autumn walk, Arlington’s wider estate takes in the changing colours of autumn. There are plenty of trails to choose from, dogs are also welcome in the gardens, grounds, and Carriage Museum.
