Something Fresh is Rising in Totnes: The Daily Knead, a New Artisan Bakery & Coffee Bar

A new destination for handcrafted bread, buttery pastries, and expertly brewed coffee is about to open its doors in Totnes. The Daily Knead, an artisan bakery dedicated to quality and community, will officially launch on Friday, 11th April 2025.

Opening Weekend Celebration

To mark the grand opening, The Daily Knead is inviting locals to join them on Friday, 11th – Sunday 13th April for a celebration of great food and great company. The first 10 customers each day across the launch weekend (11th, 12th & 13th April 2025) will receive a complimentary coffee with their first purchase, and the team will be on hand to showcase their signature bakes.

Located on Station Road, The Daily Knead is the product of a deep love for food and the search for the perfect almond croissant. This bakery is not just about great bakes, it’s a celebration of locally sourced ingredients, traditional methods, and sustainable practices.

What Sets The Daily Knead Apart?

At The Daily Knead, every loaf, croissant, and pastry is crafted fresh daily by skilled bakers using only the finest ingredients. While many ingredients are sourced from local Devon suppliers, like bakery staples from Forest Produce in Exeter and artisan coffee from The Coffee Company in Newton Abbot, some key items, like their regenerative flour from Wild Farmed in the Cotswolds, are selected for their quality and innovation.

The bakery’s standout offerings will include:

  • Filled Croissants and Danish Pastries – Flaky, buttery layers filled with sweet and savoury flavours, with seasonal options throughout the year.
  • Stoneground Sourdough Loaves – High-hydration country-style loaves that boast a crisp crust and a tender crumb.
  • Specialty Hot Drinks – Artisan coffee, carefully sourced and expertly brewed, to pair perfectly with their baked goods.

Although focused on takeaway, The Daily Knead aims to become a central part of the Totnes community.
