2016 sees the return of 3 fantastic Live Music Nights sponsored by C. And G. Catering, in Plymouth’s City Centre Piazza.

The first is on Friday 22 April and will bring 3 very brilliant but very different acts!

First to perform from 7pm will be the beautiful Sian Hoskin with her sensational modern pop.

Up next comes the Land of the Giants frontman Andy Quick and his Flying Orchestra, a genre that has been quoted as a ‘blend of hip hop, rock and reggae’!

Jessica and the Rabbits - Music for Mesothelioma

Popular local band 'Jessica and the Rabbits' will be holding a 'Music for Mesothelioma' gig to raise funds for the South West Mesothelioma Support Group.

The group is based at Derriford Hospital's Macmillan Mustard Tree Centre in Plymouth and was established in 2011 to provide peer and professional support for those affected by mesothelioma and their families.

Mesothelioma is a terminal cancer which most commonly affects the lining of the lungs and is caused by the inhalation of disturbed asbestos fibres.

Plymouth University Orchestra Workshop

Sibelius: Kullervo Symphony, Rupert Bond, conductor

Kullervo is Sibelius’ first major work. It is a five-movement symphonic poem for orchestra, soloists and male voice choir. It was heard five times from its inception in 1892 until 1893 before the composer inextricably withdrew it. Since the composer’s death in 1957 the world has started to hear performances and it is now recognised as being a stunning if unconventional contribution to the orchestral repertoire. We are going to study four of the movements in this Workshop Day – omitting the third.
