The second half of 2022 is looking very busy and exciting for West Country comedy star and Plymouth Theatre Royal Panto Legend Andy Ford.
He is about to launch into the Autumn leg of his Back in the Saddle Live Comedy Tour around the South West, including shows in Plymouth on 18th September, Torpoint on 23rd September and his home city of Exeter on Sunday 2nd October.
Inspired by research taking place at the University’s Sexual Knowledge Unit, stand-up comedian Siân Docksey and Dr Ina Linge from the University of Exeter’s Department of Modern Languages and Cultures have been collaborating on a series of special online events which explore what queerness in nature can tell us about ourselves, as part of their Arts and Culture, Creative Fellowship.
Monsieur Hulot, Jacques Tati’s endearing clown, takes a holiday at a seaside resort, where his presence provokes one catastrophe after another. Tati’s masterpiece of gentle slapstick is a series of effortlessly well-choreographed sight gags involving dogs, boats and firecrackers. It was the first entry in the Hulot series and the film that launched its maker to international stardom.

A group of Devon based comedians will host an evening of free comedy in Plymouth this month as part of a new regular night.
The new coalition of comics are hosting free shows across the South West under the banner 'The Comedy Avengers' and it will include a monthly show at The Fortescue pub in Plymouth on the fourth Thursday of every month.

The comics, who perform nationwide on the professional circuit and have won a number of awards between them, offer a variety of styles including props, one liners and musical comedy as well as straightforward stand up.
This November, Plymouth is in for a blast of high-energy comedy as Hugh McCann brings his debut show, Ensuite, to Theatre Royal Plymouth. The show, which recently began its UK Tour at Exeter’s The Bike Shed Theatre, is performed by McCann himself with direction from New Model Theatre’s Tom Nicholas.
