Appeal after pedestrians hit by bus

Police are appealing for witnesses after two pedestrians were involved in a collision with a bus in Plymouth last night [15 December].

Emergency services were called to Transit Way in Honicknowle at 7.25pm after a man and a woman were struck by the bus at the Tesco car park access road.

The 66-year-old woman, from Honicknowle, sustained a serious leg injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

The 60-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was discharged from Derriford Hospital following treatment.

The driver of the Optaire Solo Bus, operated by a private company, was uninjured in the incident.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team attended and the road was closed for five hours while they carried out a forensic examination of the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone with information which could assist with the investigation to contact them via 101@dc.police.uk or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 692 of 15/12/16.
