Renewable technology firm celebrates expansion
Expanding renewable technology provider, Low Carbon Exchange Ltd (LCX), celebrated the opening of their new offices in Weston-super-Mare with an official ribbon cutting ceremony by The Mayor and Mayoress of Weston-super-Mare (Councillor Raymond Armstrong and Mrs Joan Dunne). They were joined by Miss Eco/Miss Bristol 2015. The opening was followed by a drinks reception for clients, suppliers and associates.
Cllr. Raymond Armstrong, The Mayor said: “I am delighted to officially open the new premises for Low Carbon Exchange. I would like to take this opportunity to wish the company the best of luck for the future.”
LCX is keeping its existing Head Office at Unit 37 in Weston Industrial Estate and in addition has obtained larger premises in Gazelle Road, Weston-super-Mare, conveniently located opposite the company’s distribution centre. This move marks further expansion and development of the business as part of a mid-long term strategy to grow the services working with regional and specialist trained engineers spread across the south, from Cornwall to Gloucestershire, Kent to London and as far north as East Anglia.
Established in 2010 by Kevin Childs and Andrew Milne, the company was set up to initially deliver solar PV installation projects for a number of social housing providers and public body organisations. As the business has expanded, LCX has increased their services to include repairs, maintenance and servicing of renewable technologies, external wall insulation and resident engagement on energy saving measures, supporting their client’s vison of reducing fuel poverty.

The expansion gives us opportunity to further grow our team of dedicated employees to provide the housing sector with full turnkey solutions delivering renewable and energy saving projects.”
LCX specialises in energy saving projects and solutions for renewable technologies. Highly successful, the company has experienced significant year on year growth with an estimated forecast of over £12m for 2015/16. It currently manages over 20,000 renewable technology assets for more than 35 different clients operating across England. Mr. Childs comments: “This number is increasing as we continue to design, deliver and support new clients with energy saving measures in the most cost effective manner. We have expanded our services and are also now providing repair and maintenance packages for renewable technologies to both the social housing sector and also offer annual cover for private homeowners for heat pumps, solar PV, solar thermal and mechanical ventilation heat recovery systems. All in all, it’s an exciting new era for the company and the future of our growing team.”
