Wear a Santa Hat for DAAT
Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) is launching a fun and festive activity as part of its There to Care Christmas 2020 appeal.
The charity is asking everybody of any age to wear a Santa hat any time during the week of 7 - 11 December to show their support this Christmas.
To take part, all supporters need to do is donate just £5 and don some festive headwear - anything from reindeer antlers to elf ears and Santas-disappearing-down-chimneys goes!
DAAT is inviting families, friends, community groups and colleagues to join them in creating a bit of Christmas cheer in what has been a very difficult year for everyone.
Due to the lack of fundraising throughout 2020 the charity has been hard hit and is currently standing at a loss of around £2 million. So, it’s time to dust off those red fluffy hats that you uncovered while unpacking the Christmas decorations, polish your antlers and get ready to join in.
Devon Air Ambulance is encouraging businesses and organisations across the county and even Devon celebrities to get on board - maybe even by taking a quick selfie to show their support for this lifesaving service.
Director of Income Generation at DAA, Caroline Creer said “We really hope that everybody has some fun with this activity, whether families arrange to wear their Santa hats around the dinner table, or by bringing some festive fun to your online business meetings. We want to create a little light-heartedness at the end of what has been an incredibly difficult year and, hopefully, raise some much-needed funds for our service too.”
The charity asks that you post your Santa Hat (or similar) pics on social media with the hashtag #HatForDaat so they can show their appreciation. Support Devon Air Ambulanceand Text Hat to 70460 to donate £5.
(You’ll be opting in to hear more about DAAT’s work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £5 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, please text HATNOINFO to 70460.)
