Travel by bus all day and anywhere in Plymouth for £4

From Monday 4 November, people will be able to travel anywhere in Plymouth, all day and with any bus operator, for just £4.

Plymouth City Council has teamed up with all of the city’s bus companies to launch the ‘Skipper’ – Plymouth’s first ever multi-operator day ticket.

The Skipper will allow unlimited travel throughout the city and in surrounding areas including Torpoint, Saltash, Roborough, Langage, Ivybridge, Wembury and Heybrook Bay.

Fares are just £4 for an adult and £3 for a child (up to and including the age of 18) and tickets will be available to buy on board all First Devon and Cornwall, Plymouth Citybus, Target Travel, Western Greyhound, Jackett’s Coaches, Tally Ho and Stagecoach Devon buses in Plymouth, as well as the St Budeaux Taxibus.

Councillor Mark Coker, Cabinet Member for Transport, said: “We’re really pleased with this breakthrough, which is a big step towards providing a more integrated bus service in Plymouth. Introducing ‘through ticketing’ was one of this administration’s priorities and we hope the Skipper is popular with passengers.”

Alex Carter, Managing Director of First Devon and Cornwall, said: “This is good news for bus users in and around Plymouth. The Skipper will offer unrivalled flexibility and convenience, which we hope will help encourage new passengers to give the bus a try.”

The Skipper will be on sale from Monday 4 November. The Council’s Plymotion team will be on the Armada Way piazza, handing out leaflets and answering questions about the new ticket from 10am to 11am on Friday 1 November.
