The streets of Plymouth will be closed to traffic on Sunday 25 May as thousands of people are expected to take to their bikes as Sky Ride Plymouth is back for its third year running – or is that third year cycling.

One of sixteen major events taking place across the country this summer, Sky Ride Plymouth is set to be a brilliant day out. There will be extreme challenges, music and entertainment, competitions and above all, an awesome traffic-free route to ride around Plymouth Hoe, Stonehouse and the Royal William Yard.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, or what sort of bike you ride or how fast you ride – at Sky Ride Plymouth there’s something for everyone.

Plymouth City Council’s Cycling Commissioner, Councillor Philippa Davey said: “I am so excited that Sky Ride is coming back. The last two years have been fantastic family friendly events that have been enjoyed by thousands of people. It’s not often that roads are closed to the traffic so make the most of the freedom this will provide and see the city from a different perspective.”

Everyone who registers their free place online will receive a Sky Ride lanyard that unlocks a fantastic bundle of on-the-day benefits and goodies. What’s more, the first 1,000 people to register at goskyride.com/plymouth will also receive a limited edition Sky Ride gift on arrival at the event. Registration will be open over the coming weeks.

If you haven’t been on your bike for a while, don’t worry. The bike experts at Halfords are offering a free bike safety check (worth £14.99) to everyone who registers for Sky Ride Plymouth, and they’ll be there on the day to help out with any last-minute problems too.

Sky Ride Plymouth rolls into town on Sunday 25 May: don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this fun, free celebration of cycling. Registration for the event will be open soon at www.goskyride.com/plymouth. Let’s Ride Plymouth!
