Take a virtual tour of The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth before you visit
A brand-new virtual online tour, that allows people to discover The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth before they visit, is now available on the charity’s website.
Featuring stunning 360-degree colour images and helpful informative panels, the virtual tour means people can discover the highlights of the sanctuary and plan their visit before they arrive.
The tour guides people around the most popular areas of the sanctuary, which is set in the heart of the East Devon countryside, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The main attraction for most will be the resident donkeys, and people can look at the shelters and barns around the site to discover who lives where, including the Mediterranean Miniature donkeys, the main herd and Adoption donkeys, and the giant long-haired Poitou donkeys.
The Taste of the West award-winning onsite restaurant, ‘The Kitchen’ is the perfect place to make an actual stop during a visit, and the virtual tour shows people around the inside of the restaurant and the stunning views of the Weston Valley and sea beyond from the sunny terrace.
An education section includes views of the Understanding Donkey Zone and Exhibition barn, while many of the countryside walks that criss cross the sanctuary, and the colourful gardens are also included to provide a moment of tranquility.
The Donkey Sanctuary’s live webcams, which can also be found on the sanctuary website, provide an up-to-date view of the donkeys across the site, and compliment to Virtual Tour perfectly.
The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth is open seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm. Entry to the sanctuary is free, as is parking, and dogs on leads are welcome.
