New Community Choir for Sidmouth area
Do you love to sing? then a new fun community choir starting in March may be just what you are looking for.
Bath music man Grenville Jones started the first Good Afternoon Choir back in 2009 in his home City of Bath. Now there are over 30 Good Afternoon Choirs across England and Wales with over 1,500 enthusiastic singers belonging to these mixed-voice community groups.
“Our singers come from all walks of life and we differ from other community choirs as we SING IN THE AFTERNOON!” says Grenville.
Leading the Sidmouth Good Afternoon Choir will be Maria Thorne. Maria has always loved making music and has many years of experience directing choirs. Maria explains that singing in a Good Afternoon Choir is for everyone. There are no auditions, the music is fun, varied and for anyone attending the first rehearsal it is free of charge.
The Sidmouth Good Afternoon Choir meets on Wednesdays from 1pm-3pm at All Saints Sidmouth (All Saints Road, Sidmouth EX10 8ES) and will launch on Wednesday March 19.
Choir founder Grenville Jones says: “Singing in the afternoon is brilliant, there is no hassle about driving in the dark and for further information on our choirs please see www.goodafternoonchoir.org. Come along and meet Maria and enjoy the great choice of music.”
