Man released on bail after deer injured in "crossbow attack"
Devon & Cornwall Police have arrested a 25-year-old man after reports that a wild deer was shot in the head with a crossbow.
The man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and has been bailed until 7 February 2014.
The man who was bailed from Charles Cross police station is helping police with their enquiries.
The deer was shot on Sunday 29th December 2013 in the Plymbridge area of Plymouth and is believed to be wounded and in need of treatment for its injuries.
Police and RSPCA officers are attempting to track the deer and ask that anyone who sees a injured deer contact Police on 101 quoting log 249 of 29 December 2013.
