Handbag snatched by moped rider

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Milford Lane, Whitleigh, Plymouth between 6pm and 6.15pm on Sunday 31st July 2016 to come forward, as they may have seen something that will help the investigation of a robbery.

A lone woman in her 50’s had her navy blue handbag stolen by a person on a dark coloured moped or scooter who rode up and down the lane from the Tamerton Foliot end, passing the woman on two occasions. On the third occasion the rider of the moped grabbed her handbag and rode off in the direction of Budshead Road. The woman was left shocked but unhurt.

The rider was described as being medium height 5’6” – 5’7” and of slim build. They were wearing a light navy thin waterproof jacket with a hood and dark long trousers. The helmet was black with either purple or pink markings on the side. The bike was a scooter or a moped and dark in colour.
