Fallen tree brings down power cables and crushes car in Plympton

Police and fire crews were called to Fore Street, Plympton after a tree fell, bringing down power lines. The tree landed in the vicinity of parked cars and crushed at least one vehicle. There are no reports of injuries.

The wet and windy overnight weather conditions may have triggered the tree's demise.

A fire appliance from Plympton was mobilised and, on arrival, found power lines down and the fallen tree resting on top of parked cars.  Crews got to work to make the area safe and cordoned off the scene, remaining at the scene until Western Power attended.
