Drake Circus welcomes two new independent local brands to the centre this month - cocktail bar, Olive and Twist, and retro arcade, Continue?

The new openings have created 35 jobs in total across a range of positions, bringing a host of unique opportunities to the area.

Located on Old Town Street, Drake Circus’ bustling independent quarter, Olive and Twist’s stunning new venue is its second in Plymouth offering a selection of signature cocktails and tasty food options, including afternoon tea, sharing boards and bottomless brunch. The venue will also welcome local artists to perform live every Friday from 7th June at 9pm until late.

Just around the corner on Royal Parade, Continue?’s new 3400sq ft space includes over 40 retro arcade games – from Time Crisis and Guitar Hero, to shuffleboard and pinball, providing a fun, diverse experience for old and new players alike. Entry to the arcade is £12 for adults and £9 for children for unlimited freeplay – with bottomless popcorn for £2.80 all day.

The brands join Drake Circus’s independent quarter on Old Town Street which is home to the popular Mila’s Bakery, who offer delicious homemade brownies, cakes and cookies all lovingly created by a small team of loval bakers.

Greg Lumley, centre director at Drake Circus and The Barcode, said: ““I’m so pleased to be able to announce two new arrivals to Old Town Street, expanding and enhancing our offering for independent businesses at Drake Circus. Both Olive & Twist and Continue? are already proving popular with visitors looking to spend quality time having fun with family and friends, and we’ve no doubt they’ll become firm favourites for an afternoon or evening out, or even to round off a shopping trip at the centre.”

Austin Wood, owner of Continue?, said: “We had a super successful launch with over 2,000 guests in our first week. It has been a very fun adventure and the team and I are thrilled with the support and love from the city and its residents so far.”

Daniel Walls, Owner of Olive & Twist, said: "We are very excited to open and bring our award-winning concept and restaurant to the city centre. We offer a fun and lively dining experience from breakfast, lunch and dinner to coffees and cocktails".
