Chase and Status gig goers warned to beware of pickpockets
Police are warning fans going to the Chase and Status concert at Plymouth Pavilions on Tuesday 12 November to watch out for pickpockets.
A number of mobile phones have been reported stolen at other venues on this tour, including Bournemouth and Nottingham.
Fans targeted by thieves have had their phones taken from trouser pockets, jackets and handbags.
Thefts at concerts are part of a national problem with gangs targeting crowded, noisy venues where people are distracted and not keeping an eye on their belongings.
Police are working with staff at the venues to tackle this and have the following advice for fans:
- If you don’t need your mobile phone, don’t take it.
- If you do take your phone, make sure you know where it is at all times.
- If you see anything suspicious, report it to staff or police at the venue.
- Mark your phone and register it on immobilise.com
PC Chris May, neighbourhood beat manager for Stonehouse, said: “We need people to be vigilant - watch out for anyone acting suspiciously and ensure you know where your phone is.
“The last thing we want is for someone’s night to be ruined because their phone has been stolen.”
