Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s leading holiday park operator and owner of Ruda Holiday Park, is calling on local charities and community groups in Georgeham Parish to get in touch with ideas on how to spend their pot of £30,000 allocated for community projects in 2023.

Through a match-funding agreement with Croyde Area Residents Association (CARA), over £78,000 has already been donated to local projects around Croyde Beach, from funding a new building for Croyde Lifesaving Club to the installation of an accessible Changing Places facility. The holiday park operator is now seeking recommendations from the community for other positive local initiatives to invest in before the end of the year.

Local charitable organisations can share their ideas for spending the £30,000 community fund by emailing Orinta.Pavilonyte@Parkdean-Resorts.com. Each group can apply for a grant of up to £5,000.

Claire Ward, Assistant General Manager at Ruda Holiday Park, said: “We’re passionate about supporting this beautiful village and empowering the community to be active in its development. If there’s a change you would like to see in Croyde that will benefit the community then we’d love to help make it happen, no idea is too big or small so please don’t hesitate to reach out.”

Croyde Beach was recently awarded a prestigious Blue Flag by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy and Holly Robertson, Beach Manager at Ruda Holiday Park, won Environmental Hero of the Year at The Voice North Devon Local Hero Awards for her work managing sustainability projects and hosting beach cleans.

Ruda Holiday Park is one of 66 award-winning holiday parks owned by Parkdean Resorts. The company recently published its first ever ESG report detailing its pledges to care for its parks, people and planet, with plans covering renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions, and maintaining the natural beauty of 3,500 acres of land across its parks throughout the UK.
