World record attempt in Plymouth City Centre
Four students supported by the University of Plymouth Students Union will be attempting to break the world record for the most T-shirts worn inside out in the same place at the same time. The attempt will take place on the City Centre Piazza on the 6th of May at 11:30am and is being called #INSIDE OUT.
The main focus of the attempt is to show the local community what can be achieved when the young people of Plymouth work together towards a goal! This will all be happening whilst also raising money for Plymouth MIND, Brain Tumour Research and Children’s Hospice South West.
The attempt will hopefully attract 750 attendees to smash the current record of 614, set by the Intel Computer Company in Phoenix, Arizona (USA). Various entertainment will be provided by the young people of Plymouth showing off their talents! Although the event is being set up to champion Plymouth’s Young People the attempt is open to everyone of all ages, including those who are young at heart.
The event will celebrate the lives of the 85,000 0-25 year olds of Plymouth, and their contributions to this great ocean city. From the jobs they create, to the volunteering they undertake, young people make Plymouth a more vibrant place to live. This cannot happen however without the community’s help!
Volunteers are also required. If you can spare a few hours on May 6th please contact the University of Plymouth Students Union (01752 588387).
This attempt gives a brilliant opportunity to get everyone together and achieve something amazing for the community. All four of us can’t wait to meet everyone and break the record. If you can help us by volunteering on the day, please give us a shout. Taylor Palmer, Event Manager.
