Plymouth hospitals' awards night celebrates staff excellence

Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust held a spectacular Celebrations Ball and Awards Ceremony at Plymouth Pavilions on Friday 7 June 2013.

The event highlighted the achievements and commitments of staff and announced nominations and winners in a number of award categories.

The Trust said: "Our shortlisted stars, nominated by their colleagues and patients for their outstanding commitment, really are amazing people.

"In our ceremony, we went all out to make these amazing people feel very special and celebrate some of the best of Plymouth Hospitals."

Among the winners were Susan Stock, Head of Midwifery, who was named Leader of the Year; Clinical Team of the Year was awarded to the staff of Shipley Ward for their care of elderly patients; and Dr Gary Minto, an Anaesthetics Consultant, was awarded the accolade for Excellence in Innovation and Research.

The Trust stressed that "everyone nominated was a winner in their own right".
