South Devon - A hub of activity this Devon Restaurant Month

Whether you love fine dining in one of Devon’s many exquisite restaurants or prefer a relaxing lunch, dinner or afternoon tea in one of the county’s abundant pubs, cafés or delis, South Devon has something for everyone this Devon Restaurant Month. Throughout the 30 days of June, locals and visitors alike will be able to celebrate Devon’s amazing producers, chefs and eating establishments through an enticing selection of tasty one-off specials, seasonal lunch, dinner and tasting menus and afternoon treats. Devonians can even stay a night for free at The Royal Castle Hotel, Dartmouth and The Royal Seven Stars, Totnes if sampling the Devon Taster menu.

The Cary Arms, situated in a stunning location overlooking Babbacombe Beach, is just one of over 30 venues across Devon taking part in Devon Restaurant Month this year. Exuding charm, the boutique hotel is offering diners a real treat with a fabulous seafood mezze for two. Available Monday to Saturday lunchtime (12 noon – 3pm), priced at £24 per couple the offer includes a glass of de Savary wine each, a pint of real ale from local producers such as Otter Brewery and Bays Brewery or a soft drink. Located within close proximity to the coast, the team of chefs at the Cary Arms will showcase the finest fish and seafood landed locally off the county’s coast line and even garnish the dishes using herbs picked from the hotel’s beautifully maintained gardens. Visit www.caryarms.co.uk or call 01803 327110 to book your place.

Jeff Cooper, founder of Devon Restaurant Month comments: “In 2012 we launched Devon Restaurant Month to acknowledge the wide range of superb eating establishments we have in our fabulous county. Since then, Devon Restaurant Month has grown far more than we could have imagined and to have over 30 establishments participating is fantastic.” Jeff continues: “You don’t have to be a restaurant to be involved, this year we have a wonderful selection of events taking place celebrating many of the foods Devon is so famous for.”

Other South Devon venues who have confirmed their involvement include The Cottage Hotel, Langdon Court Hotel, The Laughing Monk, Devon Deli, The White Hart at Dartington Hall, The Anchor Inn, The Bickley Mill Inn and the Ship Inn as well as many more.
