Sky's new Dawn French drama, Delicious, filmed at Pentillie Castle
The secret is finally out. The location of the fab new Sky 1 Dawn French drama, Delicious, is none other than Pentillie Castle, situated in the Tamar Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty in South East Cornwall.
During the Summer, Sky film crews took over the stunning grounds of the award winning luxury bed and breakfast and events venue to film the series, which also stars Silent Witness' Emilia Fox and Game of Thrones’ Iain Glen as Dawn's love interest.
Iain plays a hotel boss famed for his culinary skills - but cheats on both of the women in his life - creating chaos all round.
The majority of the hotel and racy scenes were filmed all around the estate, including the kitchen garden, Victorian bathing hut and American Gardens.
"It was hugely exciting," said Sammie Coryton, MD of Pentillie. "We were sworn to secrecy, but it was fascinating to see Dawn, Emilia and the film crew transform Pentillie - and shoot this fantastic new series - which personally I can't wait to see!"
Pentillie Castle, which is just outside Plymouth, is known for its weddings, shooting parties, business retreats and B&B, and is less than an hour from Dawn French's home in Cornwall.
"It was fantastic to film in so many beautiful areas like Pentillie in Cornwall," said Dawn.
"I enjoyed filming in Cornwall very much," said Iain Glen. "I love the undulating coastlines and beautiful countryside."
The four part series starts at 9pm on December 30 on Sky1. Visitors to Pentillie should contact contact@pentillie.co.uk.
