Those who frequented the old building shouldn’t be too dismayed, though, as another bingo location in the city has received a massive makeover.  

Around the same time that it was announced that the Derry’s Cross bingo hall would close, there was another piece of news in the bingo industry. The £40 million company has undergone this overhaul in an effort to attract younger players to the game which has traditionally been played by older generations. The amount of young bingo players across the UK is growing, but at present, a lot of them choose to play online. Buzz Bingo is attempting to offer these people a similar experience to what they would find online but in a brick and mortar location. If they can achieve this goal, it spells exciting times for the diverse demographic found in the Plymouth branch. It could open up whole new ways of socialising.

The previously named Gala Bingo at Charles Cross is the latest one to be subject to the rebranding, and is now known as Buzz Bingo. But the overhaul goes way beyond just changing the name.
