A ‘Fishmas’ to remember with the National Marine Aquarium
The National Marine Aquarium has an exciting array of events and activities planned throughout December to make the festive season go swimmingly.
From Saturday 16th December, Santa Claus himself will join the array of colourful marine life in the Eddystone Reef tank, swimming amongst Stella and Stanley, the smoothound sharks, Cornelia, the wreckfish and Krishna, the spiny lobster, as well as the bulhuss sharks and friendly cuckoo wrasse.
Younger visitors can take part in a special Christmas trail and there will also be festive craft activities, plus interactive shows and talks.
On 17 December, the Aquarium will be hosting ‘A Christmas Night to Remember’. Visitors will be transported into a winter wonderland: whilst feasting upon delicious mince pies and mulled wine, a Christmas choir will provide festive entertainment. There will also be cupcake decorating, plus a special visit from Santa, who will be diving in the Eddystone tank before presenting every child with a gift.
Helen Gowans, Public Engagement Coordinator at the National Marine Aquarium, said: “We’re looking forward to a very special festive season here at the National Marine Aquarium, with a whole host of events and activities for all the family to enjoy. Santa Claus will be making some very special visits to our tanks and our exciting ‘A Christmas Night to Remember’ will be the perfect way for families to soak up the festive atmosphere in the run up to the big day. We look forward to welcoming visitors to join us for a mince pie and mulled wine which they can enjoy in front of our mesmerizing marine life.”
‘A Christmas Night to Remember’ will take place from 5.45pm on 17 December. Tickets are priced at £10 for adults; £12 for children and under three year olds admitted free of charge. To book tickets, please visit www.national-aquarium.co.uk or call 0844 893 7938.
