Wild about Plymouth to look at mini beasts and bugs
Families will have a chance to get up close to insects and mini-beasts on Saturday 7 December, with natural history partnership Wild About Plymouth.
What’s Your Bug? has been organised by staff from the City Museum and Art Gallery and Plymouth University and will take place in the university's Davy Building from 10am to noon.
Youngsters and grown-ups will get to use the university's microscopes to examine a range of insects and mini-beasts, try to name the different animals on display and create pictures of them – with prizes for the best drawings.
The cost for the event is just £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for children over three (under-threes go free). You must book in advance – call into the City Museum and Art Gallery between 10am and 5.30pm Tuesday to Friday or 10am to 5pm on Saturday or telephone 01752 304774.
On the day, Wild About Plymouth staff will meet everyone at the front doors of the Davy Building, which is just across the road from the Museum.
Wild About Plymouth runs a family-friendly natural history or science-based event every month. The current programme can be found on the'what’s on pages at www.plymouthmuseum.gov.uk
Future events for 2014 will look at things as varied as giant sea spiders, woolly rhinos and mammoths, shrews, mice, voles, millipedes, bees and pollen.
