GCSE awards evening at Plympton Academy
Plympton Academy held its GCSE Certificate and Awards evening recently to celebrate the class of 2017’s exam results.
The students were presented with their GCSE certificates and awards in front of family and friends, by former student and current Plymouth Albion player, Dean Squires. Principal Lisa Boorman gave the closing speech and the evening was hosted by Head of Sixth Form, Martin Tinkler.
Prizes were also given for students who had taken particular pride in their studies, who had excelled in progress, and who epitomised the school values. The evening ended with overall awards being given to Caliph Ali for Progress, Emily Skidmore for Excellence and for Core Learning Values; these were given to Callum Puckering and Gina Stevens.
“It was a fantastic evening,” said Martin Tinkler.”It was a pleasure to see so many happy parents and students as they were rightfully recognised for their hard work and commitment.”
