Nurse plus Plymouth wins two care awards
Nurse Plus has been presented with two awards at the Plymouth City Council Excellence in Care Awards, including the Dementia Quality Mark in recognition of its commitment to improving the lives of those with dementia.
The healthcare recruitment company was commended for its approach to person centred care and to quality assurance, as well as its year on year improvement in the dementia care it provides.
The achievement was honoured with a celebratory awards evening where Plymouth branch manager, Julie Bullock, also received a People’s Choice Award for her 30 years service in care.
Julie, commented: “We are thrilled that our dedication to dementia care has been recognised and I was really overwhelmed to have received a People’s Choice Award.
“It was a fabulous night celebrating how we take pride in the care work we do. We all have different stories regarding why we love working in the care sector and how we can all make a difference to people’s lives. For Nurse Plus to win two awards in one night is simply amazing!”
Julie was nominated by staff at the Plymouth branch for her ‘caring, sensitive and fair nature,’ as well as her ability to ensure that no service user is left unattended at any point in time.
The Dementia Quality Mark was established in 2010 and aims to establish a local accreditation system, improved person centred care across homes, reduce admission into acute settings and lower the amount of safeguarding alerts.
Nurse Plus was established in 2005 by a group of experienced healthcare and recruitment experts. Since then the company has grown rapidly and provides homecare and nursing agency services, with over 55 branches across the UK.
The company’s progress has been underlined by the recent investment from Sovereign Capital and shortlisting for a number of high profile industry awards.
