Plymouth Science Park scoops top architecture award

Plymouth Science Park's astonishing cutting-edge £7 million gateway building has scooped a top award at the prestigious 2017 Michelmores Property Awards.

The awards celebrate outstanding property and construction projects in Bristol, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall, across ten categories.

The event last night (15th June) at the Great Hall at the University of Exeter, was hosted by comedian and actor Marcus Brigstocke.

Plymouth Science Park Director of Operations Christian Jenkins said of the win for the iconic building 1 Research Way: "We are delighted to receive the acknowledgement for 1 Research Way. It has been a great project collaborating with the University of Plymouth and Plymouth City Council and supported by an outstanding project and delivery team.

"Our ambition was to create the most iconic and technologically advanced environment for leading edge technology businesses which has been fully vindicated with the tenants we already have in the building."

The category won by Plymouth Science Park was Commercial Project of the Year.

The building provides flexible accommodation and facilities for science and technology businesses and was designed to foster collaboration, encouraging users to interact and share ideas.

Emma Honey, Head of Real Estate at Michelmores, said: "Once again, the standard of entries we received for this year's Property Awards was outstanding.
