Exciting New Hedda Gabler Comes To Exeter's Barnfield Theatre!
‘Hedda is bored, and when Hedda is bored, she is dangerous…’
A fresh, new, and exciting stage adaptation of this classic drama by visiting Midlands-based theatre company, Here To There Productions, arrives at The Barnfield Theatre in Exeter as part of a 27-date UK Tour.
Although written in 1890, Ibsen’s story is still as relevant to today's audiences as ever – a powerful woman who feels trapped by the expectations of those around her, predominantly men. But when she tries to take charge of her life, it starts to spiral out of control and bad things happen. It's two hours of pure drama and dark humour.
Andrew Whittle (the producer and director of Hedda) has written this bold new version of the play, remaining faithful to the original plot, but modernising the language slightly to make it more accessible for today’s audience.
With a cast of 7 professional actors, a beautiful set and immersive soundscapes, the world of Hedda is brought vividly to life for the audience.
'Hedda’ will be performed at The Barnfield Theatre, Exeter from April 30 - May 4, at 7.45pm, with a 2.30pm matinee on Sat 4.
