Wine tasting and sumptuous supper
A great opportunity to enjoy a light-hearted but informative wine tasting led by local wine merchant, Charles Steevenson from Charles Steevenson Wines of Tavistock. Charles will guide you through a diverse selection of wines of intrigue from around the globe. With his wealth of knowledge he will de-mystify the complexities of the modern wine list, the influences of the principle grape varieties, key styles of production and offer guidance on food/wine pairing.
This will be followed by a delicious two-course meal by award-winning Food Dreckly who specialise in locally sourced food from the Tamar Valley. The menu will, as always, be dictated by what is available and fresh on the day, but here’s an indication to tempt the taste buds:
Tamar Valley deep-roasted summer vegetable tart on a walnut pastry base, with a fresh herb and artisan cheese crust. This will be accompanied by a selection of well-dressed seasonal, crisp and colourful salads.
To follow, expect a delicious dessert featuring the freshest Tamar fruits of the day. Perhaps the gooseberries will be good, the elderflowers aromatic or the strawberries particularly sweet – either way, they will combine into delicious and fruity desserts.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Tickets at £20 per person are available from Levines in Calstock, or may be reserved on 01822 833183 or at mail@calstockarts.org
