In this small intimate exhibition Devon artist, Simon Fleeman, explores the infinite possibilities of digital art to present a very different perception of the visual interpretation of people’s views and attitudes towards sex, gender, nudity and indifference. Beautifully drawn, these artworks will challenge your own perceptions.
His raw, stripped-back Pop Art form, using only a limited amount of tools and colours to create simple, minimalistic abstract shapes and spaces, almost cartoonish or toylike in execution, helps make his subject matter visible and acceptable.
Join us in the Studio Theatre at Plymouth College of Art for 'A Discipline of the Mind – The Travels of Wilhelmina Barns-Graham’, a public lecture by Geoffrey Bertram, Chairman of the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust, discussing Wilhelmina Barns-Graham as an artist and printmaker.
The event will begin at 5.00pm on Wednesday 24 January and marks the generous donation of a collection of six screenprints (made between 2000-2006), presented to the college by the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust in October 2017, and now part of the College’s permanent study collection.
