Sea swimming exhibition makes Plymouth its first port of call

The first display of an exhibition exploring the inspirational effects of sea bathing is coming to Plymouth University next month.

To coincide with World Ocean Day on 8 June, the University’s Peninsula Arts programme is pleased to announce that, Head Above Water, a touring exhibition from company Sea Swim, will be coming to the campus from 23 July – 3 September.

Destination: Saltram, travelling the world through the collections

Destination: Saltram is a new pop-up exhibition exploring the world through the collections of the eighteenth century National Trust house near Plymouth. Opening on Saturday 7 May, the temporary exhibition will run until Sunday 26 June.

Following on from the success of the international Plymouth Contemporary Open, we are delighted to partner with Effervescent and the Plymouth History Centre to launch the first Plymouth Young Contemporary Open; an exhibition that will showcase the wealth of creative talent Plymouth has to offer.

Soil Culture: Deep Roots

Deep Roots presents a series of works by six of the most established international artists who have engaged with soils over many years. It ranges from previously unseen work by Mel Chin, who uses plants to extract heavy metals from contaminated land, to that of Claire Pentecost who has refashioned soil into the shape of gold ingots to reflect its true worth.
