Growing up isn’t easy, especially when you’re in love with a bear.
To celebrate Christmas, award-winning local theatre company The Wrong Crowd bring their critically acclaimed, sell-out show to Dartington. The Girl with the Iron Claws is a captivating, dark fairy-tale, which shares its roots with Beauty and the Beast. Stunning puppetry, bewitching music, deft humour and a touch of snow combine to dazzling effect in this coming-of-age tale to enthral audiences young and old.
Some of the places National Trust look after in and around Plymouth, Tavistock and Saltash have put on a programme of festive craft and food fairs for the month of November to help locals get ready for the festive season. The historical houses will be the backdrop for a series of events that will showcase some of the best local food, drink, arts and crafts.
On Friday 8th December this year La La Choirs will perform the 3rd annual ‘CLIC for Christmas’ concert at Exeter Cathedral in aid of CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people. In 2015 we raised £9,600, in 2016 we raised £12,000 and for 2017 we are aiming even higher!

Mighty Mondo Monday have been called upon to put some festive cheer in your lives with their sixth annual Christmas special at Peninsula Arts.
This year they’re melting hearts with Edward Scissorhands. So for all you misfits, oddballs and hopeless romantics come watch the snow fly and try to make it look like you’ve ‘just got something in your eye’. An amazing quiz is included, with prizes and a myriad of other Yuletide treats to make even the staunchest Scrooge’s head spin
Enjoy uplifting music including the Christmas story featured in Part 1 of Handel’s celebrated oratorio, Messiahi, that overflows with stirring choruses and evocative solo arias depicting the coming of the Christ Child gloriously announced by angels.
The concert will also include traditional carols. This is what Christmas is all about – a festival of singing and rejoicing!
Plymouth University Orchestra will perform a selection of orchestra works prepared during the term with additional pieces for strings, wind and brass ensembles.
The Orchestra comprises of students, staff and community members and performs three concerts during the academic year.
