Calstock Arts Classics : Craig Ogden
Calstock Arts’s new season of classical music continues with Australian born guitarist Craig Ogden, one of the most exciting artists of his generation, who returns to The Old Chapel following two outstanding performances in 2010 and 2011.
One of the UK’s most recorded guitarists, Craig’s albums The Guitarist and Summertime shot straight to No.1 in the Classic FM chart. He has performed concertos with all of the main UK orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Halle Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, as well as the WDR Rundfunk Orchestra in Cologne and the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra (Denmark).
Craig regularly appears as soloist and chamber musician at major London venues and collaborates with many of the UK’s top artists and ensembles. In 2008 he made his presenting debut on BBC Radio 3 in ‘The Segovia Legacy’ co-presented by Louis de Bernières.
Craig is Principal Lecturer in Guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and Visiting Lecturer at London’s Royal College of Music.
