Call out for ACED Volunteer of the Year 2025
Arts, culture and heritage organisations and festivals in East Devon are invited to nominate their Volunteer of the Year 2025.
Arts & Culture East Devon (ACED) is requesting nominations for ACED Volunteer of the Year 2025. The award recognises a volunteer’s outstanding contribution to an arts / heritage organisation or festival and recognises the impact they have made to the East Devon cultural landscape.
Deadline for nominations is 9 May. Nominating is easy. Just submit up to 250 words about your volunteer and three words to describe them.
The winner will be announced at the ACED network summer meeting at A La Ronde in Exmouth on Thursday 5 June. They will be honoured with a beautiful glass trophy, created by contemporary fused glass artist, Susan Purser Hope.
All shortlisted nominees will also recognised for their invaluable services to culture and heritage across East Devon.
The winner of the ACED Volunteer of the Year 2024 award, Colin Trussell from Sidmouth Folk Festival, will present this year's award.
Colin Trussell, commented,
I was genuinely astonished and humbled to receive the award last year. The amount of time and effort that culture volunteers contribute is awe-inspiring. Without them, we just couldn't put on our arts and culture events.
Sarah Elghady, ACED - East Devon District Council Cultural Producer said,
ACED is really pleased to offer this award in recognition of the fantastic contribution volunteers make to the cultural sector across the district. They are absolutely the glue that hold our beloved East Devon festivals, heritage and culture venues together – many of which would simply not exist without their invaluable support.
