Exhibition: Bluebells & Woodland
The English Artist, a gallery specialising in Fine and Applied Arts is hosting their first exhibition of the year featuring beautiful Spring themed landscapes and still life paintings by Kirsten Elswood.
“Through my landscape paintings, I want to connect with the viewer and for them to feel the peace of the wild."
Kirsten Elswood is known for her atmospheric paintings of woodlands and forests. With a keen eye for light and the beauty in nature, Kirsten captures the charm of the forest landscape, particularly in the spring when vibrant bluebells carpet the ground. By using expressive brushstrokes and a harmonious palette, her paintings have a real sense of place. Making plein air sketches enables Kirsten to connect directly with the natural world, carefully observing light filtering through the canopy of trees.
Kirsten will be in the gallery demonstrating her landscape painting techniques on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th May.
Alongside Kirsten's work there will be ceramics, glass and jewellery on display as well as some of Helaina Sharpley's intricate wirework pieces detailing British flora and trees.
The gallery will be open Tuesday to Friday 10am-5pm and on Saturday 9.30am - 4pm.
