MKM Creates 18 Jobs as First New Builders’ Merchant in Plymouth in Over Two Decades

Plymouth, Devon – MKM Building Supplies (MKM), the UK’s proper independent builder’s merchant, will open its 131st branch in Plymouth on Monday 3rd February 2025, creating 18 new jobs. The branch, which represents the first new builders’ merchant in the city for over two decades, its located in a purpose-built facility designed to offer an unparalleled customer experience for both trade professionals and retail customers.

Led by Branch Directors Simon Channings and Mike Kerslake, both lifelong Plymouth residents, MKM Plymouthaims to deliver the MKM’s renowned blend of high-quality products, outstanding expertise, and a steadfast commitment to the local community.

MKM Plymouth has already pledged to sponsor several grassroots sports teams, including Parkway FC, Tamar Saracens, and Plymouth Albion and the branch will also support Plymouth Argyle Community Trust as it’s community-based Charity of the Year partner, continuing MKM’s tradition of its branches supporting local causes and building relationships within the communities it serves.
