Oddfellows Friendship Month Lunch In Plymstock
To celebrate the Oddfellows National Friendship Month which has received extensive coverage on local radio and in other media, members of the friendly society in Plymouth and South East Cornwall have met for lunch at the Plymstock Inn, Plymstock and the occasion was hugely enjoyed by all those attending.
Pride of the West with Saint Andrews Oddfellows Lodge members have gathered for Sunday lunches for well over 20 years and the occasions are organised by popular member, Katherine Hicks-Jane.
The group moves round the many hostelries giving everyone a chance to have an enjoyable get together with friends old and new.
The Oddfellows in Plymouth and district also gathers on a monthly basis at the Saint Budeaux Community Centre in Wolseley Road, Saint Budeaux for a morning meeting followed by lunch in a local café and an afternoon friendship group where various fun games and quizzes are enjoyed accompanied by light refreshments.
Brenda Lowe, Noble Grand – in effect Chairperson – of the Oddfellows in Plymouth said, “We always have a really good meal with friendly company and members of the Oddfellows are never lonely with all that is available to them. With the meetings and friendship groups backed by the wide ranging benefits open to our membership, we are very pleased to welcome new folks who always go on to become friends as well. All members have recently received our six monthly ‘Events and News’ magazine in the post where there are more dates for diaries and details of membership services.”
Meeting for a variety of social activities in Plymouth, Truro, Redruth and other locations and with all the benefits of a well-established friendly society founded in 1810, the Oddfellows always welcomes new members of all ages and all genders.
