Top Results for City College Plymouth’s T Level Students

Students and staff at City College Plymouth are celebrating another remarkable year of level 3 qualification results at the city's learning destination of choice.

Nearly 900 students, primarily aged 16 to 18, studied subjects ranging from engineering and childcare to performing arts and sports, achieving an impressive overall pass rate of 99%.

The College has received its first full set of T Level results, marking the inaugural year for students in education and childcare, healthcare, construction, and engineering, all of whom achieved a 100% pass rate.

T Levels are a new qualification bringing together academic study with workplace experience. Equivalent to three A Levels, they offer young people practical and knowledge-based learning with on-the-job experience through an industry placement of 45 days. T Levels have been designed following thorough consultations with leading businesses and employers to allow students to meet the needs of the industry both now and in the future.

City College has invested over £2.5 million in T Level building developments during the summer of 2024. This investment reflects the College's commitment to creating state-of-the-art learning environments equipped with cutting-edge technology, developed in collaboration with industry partners. The construction work is focused on reshaping the College's learning spaces to align with the evolving needs of employers driving growth in Plymouth and the South West.

For young people in the city receiving their GCSE results next week and interested in studying T Levels this September, the College will be hosting an open day on Friday 23 August, between 10.00am and 1.00pm. School leavers and their parents are welcome to attend and learn more about the post-16 options available.
