The Hideaways Holiday group has announced the launch of Devon Hideaways, a 100+ strong portfolio of cottages spanning the North, East, Central and West Devon, along with South Hams, Torbay and Dartmoor.

Devon Hideaways is the Hideaway Holiday Group's ninth regional brand, and follows the success of its neighbouring brands, Cornwall Hideaways and Dorset Hideaways.

Predominantly rural, with rolling hills and huge, open skies, Devon is most popular for Dartmoor and its quiet seaside villages and towns – the perfect tranquil break from the everyday. Devon Hideaways’ collection of idyllic holiday cottages means it’s never been easier to escape for your next holiday and the growing selection of properties ranges from rustic thatched cottages and elegant family manors to lighthouse keepers cottages.

As with all the Hideaways brands, the emphasis is on the local knowledge of the people behind the brand, with their local expertise and passion for their region. The result is a personalised service, top tips on local events and hidden gems and most of all, a memorable stay.

James Boyce, Managing Director of the Hideaways Holidays Group, comments “Devon has long been a dream location for us, with incredibly beautiful spots across the moors and the coast. We are pleased to finally offer stays in the area and have amassed an impressive range of properties available to book now. We are looking forward to continuing to see our offering in the area grow and with the help of our talented and experienced local team, are ready to help guests find the best properties to holiday in while championing local businesses and attractions.”

Three reasons why Devon should be on your summer travel list:

  1.  Its impressive food scene…

Devon is a well-known foodie spot, celebrated for its fantastic climate for fresh seafood and excellent seasonal produce, and of course for its famous cream teas. Along with some incredible cafes, delis, farm shops, microbreweries and vineyards, Devon is also home to multiple award winning chefs and Michelin restaurants. This includes three fine-dining Michelin starred restaurants - Michael Caines MBE’s Lympstone ManorMason Armsoverlooking Exmoor; and Gidleigh Park in Dartmoor - along with nineteen other Michelin guide restaurants across the region.

  1. Its stunning beaches…

Lucky enough to have two incredible coastlines, Devon’s beaches are amongst some of the best in the UK. South of Woolacombe, Putsborough beach offers three miles of golden sandy shores, perfect for sunbathing and with multiple rockpools to entertain the kids. It’s also a popular spot for surfing, swimming and windsurfing with its clean blue waters. On the southern side, the East Devon coast boasts the Jurassic Coast UNESCO World Heritage Site, with unique geology and multiple beaches, including the shingled Beer Beach with its striking white cliffs, set in a picturesque fishing village with mackerel fishing trips available.

  1.  Its rugged moors…

Devon is home to two magnificent moors and National Parks - Dartmoor in the south and Exmoor in the north. The rugged landscape of Dartmoor covers 954 square kilometres, with 450 miles of paths to walk, cycle or run. With the wild moorlands stretching across the landscape, punctuated by deep river valleys, impressive granite toors and expanses of heather, Dartmoor is the perfect place to marvel in nature and escape the stresses of everyday life. Further north on the Somerset border, Exmoor’s South West Coastal Path can’t be missed, skimming North Devon’s quiet coast. At night, Exmoor is the perfect place to stargaze, being recognised as an International Dark Sky Reserve.

Home to an extensive collection of hand-picked holiday homes nestled in idyllic locations and spread over some of the most beautiful country and coastal regions of the UK, the brands within the Hideaways Holiday Group collectively feature over 1,750 places to stay.
