Murder investigation launched in Plymouth

Police have launched an investigation following the suspicious death of a 64-year-old woman in Plymouth.

The woman was found deceased at an address in Honicknowle on 25 May 2017.

A post mortem has since revealed that the woman had sustained a number of unexplained injuries.

A 54-year-old man was today [15 June] arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody in Plymouth.

Officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team are carrying out an enquiry into the circumstances of the death.

Police are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and a cordon remains in place at the property.
