Michael Foot memorial defaced with Nazi graffiti

Police have launched an investigation after offensive graffiti was discovered on a memorial stone in Freedom Fields Park in Plymouth, this weekend.

Rob Souness from the Diverse Community Teams, said: “We have received reports of offensive graffiti on a memorial stone to Michael Foot in Freedom Fields park in Plymouth.

“This is a disgusting act of vandalism and we are fully aware of how shocking this is to the community, and of course to Mr Foot’s family and friends.

“Thankfully the graffiti has been removed, but we are still investigating this matter. If anyone witnessed anything over the weekend, or can help police identify those responsible, then we want to hear from you.
