Changes to bus services in Plymouth
A number of changes are being made to bus services in and around Plymouth next month.
Stagecoach will be taking over the operation of First South Devon on 6 September and is planning several changes to the network. Plymouth Citybus will also be reviewing its services as a result.
Councillor Mark Coker, Cabinet Member for Strategic Transport and Planning said: “We welcome Stagecoach’s expansion within Plymouth and are pleased to hear about their plans for investment in the local bus network with a more modern fleet and particularly the purchase of new buses. We look forward to working with the company over the coming weeks to help them deliver the reliable and good value services with regular frequencies they have committed to provide.”
All areas will continue to be served by alternative services with the exception of Glenholt where the nearest service will be the high frequency 100/101 Park & Ride service from the George Junction.
Also from 20 September there will be changes to bus departure points on Royal Parade with the introduction of two new shelters on the Theatre Royal side. Information on where to catch your bus will be displayed in all shelters on Royal Parade from 13 September.
Full details of all the changes and the alternative services to those that have been withdrawn can be found on the Council’s website www.plymouth.gov.uk/buses
