Charity golf event raises £1,440
Bandvulc held its annual charity golf event to raise funds for Cancer Research UK in memory of Jamie Kingdom on the 12th July at the Boringdon Golf Club in Plympton. It was a great day for everyone involved and an incredible £1440 was raised on the day.
Jamie worked at Bandvulc for some 13 years and sadly lost his fight with cancer at the young age of 31.
It was decided by his friends and work colleagues to hold a regular fundraising golf day in his memory and every year the event raises more and more money for Cancer Research UK.
The day included what is always a very competitive round of golf, which was then followed by a charity auction with some great prizes donated by businesses in the local area.
Reg Souch, Warehouse Manager at Bandvulc said, “Thank for everyone that made the event possible, including the sponsors for the fabulous prizes and to the people who both bought and sold raffle tickets”.
Reg went on to say, “On the day it was wet, wet, wet and by the the 8th hole we all looked like we’d had a swim in the water hazard and were soaked through the the skin, but because we knew it was for Jamie and a great cause, we ploughed on and I’m pleased to say all twenty people that started the course, finished…some with better score cards than others!!”
Bandvulc would like to thank everyone who got involved in the event without whom the day could not have raised the money it did in memory of Jamie and for a very worthwhile charity.
