Jewellery taken in Plymstock burglary
Police are seeking information after £2,700 worth of jewellery was stolen during a burglary at a Plymstock home.
The owners discovered their home in Howard Road had been burgled when they returned on Monday morning from a weekend break.
Offenders had forced a window to get into the property sometime between 3pm on Friday 3 July and 11am on Monday 6 July.
They made an untidy search of the house before stealing items of valuable jewellery and a quantity of cash.
Items stolen included a 9ct gold curb necklace, a sapphire and diamond man’s ring, a rectangular pendant and bracelet with cubic zirconia stones, three watches, eight pairs of gold earrings and a man’s Tiger’s eye 9ct gold ring.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the burglary and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously in Howard Road over the weekend.
The man is described as white, 5 ft 10ins tall, aged around 50, with close cropped steel grey hair. He was wearing a scruffy coat and grey trousers, and may have had a limp.
PC Lynn Doxsey said: “This has been very upsetting for the victims. They were met with a scene of devastation when they returned to their home after a short weekend break and items of precious jewellery had been taken.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who knows the whereabouts of the stolen jewellery, have been offered the items for sale, or anyone who saw this man or other individuals acting suspiciously at the time of the offence.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Doxsey on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting crime reference CR/047059/15.
